We received our favorite email of the year so far describing a great cake journey. With their permission, here is the text and pictures…..
Hello!
I wanted to follow up regarding two very special rolled log birthday cakes you made for a friend. I picked the cakes up on April 3 for a friends daughter who is turning 40 this weekend in Canberra, Australia. Rachel lived in Vancouver for 11 years as a child into her teenage years, your bakery was and still is her favorite.
Her mother, Jackie ordered the cakes and I flew with them to Dallas Texas on April 4. They went into the freezer until Jackie and her husband moved on April 16 to Maryland. They drove the cakes in their car to Maryland….and then yesterday, May 6 they started their 26 hour air travel to Canberra Australia!
I wanted you to see that your wonderful cakes may not look as beautiful as the day they left the bakery but are being very much enjoyed, appreciated and loved half a world away, by a very surprised and happy nearly 40 year old!
I’m attaching photos….for your enjoyment! Thank you!
Cindy.
To save anyone from googling distances, I had to do it. 11,600 miles flown and 1,400 miles driven for the whole trip.
Great story and some dedicated friends and family.
